“All the ill that is in us comes from fear, and all the good from love.”

Fear makes people do stupid and crazy things.

Years ago, I vowed not to make any decisions driven by fear.

It’s not easy to do. But I’ve applied that idea most of the time (hey, I’m not perfect 🤷🏻‍♂️). And when I didn’t, I regretted it.

When you do kind and loving things, good things happen — not immediately and not 100% of the time, but overall they send you (and those around you) to good places.

Some Valentine’s Day Movies For You, However You May Feel

Some people love Valentine’s Day, and some people hate it. And it might change from year to year.

And this isn’t just a list of current movies. This list is full of classics going all the way back to Pillow Talk from 1959.

I recently rediscovered a dazzling post from one of my previous favorite writers on Medium, who has taken lately to more of a “We’re screwed” vibe. 🤷🏻‍♂️

👉What Really Makes Someone Beautiful

Despite the title, this is not just one of those “beauty is only skin deep” platitudes.

Aren’t we drawn to people with hidden depth and curiosity? People who show who they really are. People who are strong, funny, creative, and kind. People who see beauty in the weirdness and in the darkness. People who are not innocent, even if they appear innocent.

Beauty can be found in the balance of all these things.
